So around 11am ish Me, Daniel (Inconnu) and his girlfriend Ryan all arrive outside of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds. There was a line for people who had tickets, and people waiting to goto roll call. Me and Ryan had the idea to cut in front of people at the front of the line so we absolutely wouldn't miss 30stm. So she calls up Daniel after we find a spot 15 feet away from the gate. VirgoAnima (Ryan) walked towards the front of the gate and I told him to go and get his roomie and friend, so they cut in with us. It opened up around 11:30 something, and we all rushed to the stage. The crew for 30stm were doing sound check and that lasted for about 10-15 minutes. After they were done some music was playing from the radio station, and then Planet Radio 93.3 DJ Klinger came out and introduced 30stm.
They played a small little intro with just a constant noise coming from the guitars, and then Jared finally came out. They kicked off the show with 'Edge of the Earth', and paused towards the end before the last chorus sing off. Matt and Shannon were both rockin' it for the right side of the stage (where I said for all of the Echelon to meet up), and Jared kept giving us some mad love too. The next song was 'Capricorn (A Brand New Name), which was just so fucking energetic you could feel the energy throughout the crowd and the band feeding off of it and giving us 10 times the energy back. There was another pause and he asked us to help him sing the song, and the crowd went fucking nuts! Jared talked about how he has been living in Jacksonville, Florida for a month now, and how he fucking loves it to death, and that they WILL be back here again. He said it has been like home. The next song was 'Fantasy', a new track that will be on A Beautiful Lie. Nobody really knew the words to it, of course, but this song had a fast kinda rythym to it, and the guitars were heavy and so 30 Seconds to Mars style. You will NOT be disappointed! There is a part of the song where Jared does a "Whoa oh oh Whoa" and he got the crowd to do it, left, right, center, then all at once with the band. This song was definetly not what I expected, but fucking AMAZING! And well sad but true, their 4th and FINAL song was 'Attack'. This song was definetly a HELL of a lot better played live then it is on the website. There was another pause before the "Your promises.." part of the song, and Jared got the crowd pumped up again. He said "You motherfuckers must have been calling the radio station a thousand times a DAY to ask them to play this song, thank you so much!", and then they finished the rest of the song. They walked off the stage and the crowd was going wild until they were gone and music started playing from the radio station, and we all kinda walked away. And it was done. Setlist - Edge of the Earth - Capricorn (A Brand New Name) - Fantasy < new song - Attack Or so we thought (IMG:http://thirtysecondstomars.forumsunlimited.com/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Me, Daniel, his friend whose name I can't think of at the moment, Ryan (his girlfriend), VirgoAnima Ryan and his roomie and their other friend all walked around to find someone who knew if 30stm would come out and sign autographs. They directed our attention towards the left side of the stage where they were selling merch but didn't have any 30stm stuff. We waited around for a good 20-30 minutes before Tomo, Matt & Shannon all came out and started talking to us, signing autographs, taking pictures (with picture phones that is), and just more talking. They seriously hung out with us and talked to us for atleast 15-20 minutes. Me and Matt talked about music, and I told him a good movie theatre here in town since they wanted to see a movie, so hopefully they'll enjoy it if they go! So after they chilled with us they went away for about 10 minutes and we saw Jared in the background, and he walked over to us and started talking to us. I got his autograph along with Tomo, Matt & Shannon on a 30 Seconds to Mars sticker that some guy in a green shirt was passing out, he had a bunch. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v374/coldsp1d3r/30stm_sticker-01.png) (I put the sticker on the opened CD to give it a more rising effect, CD not signed) So afterwards the band waved us goodbye, and told us thanks a million, and Tomo ran out, took a picture with someone, shook a few hands, gave five to a few us, and then they were gone. VirgoAnima and his roomie & friend said goodbye to us and headed back home too. We all left after 30 Seconds to Mars played, because we didn't wanna see any other bands. And that's that. Michael P.S. Thanks for sharing, I'm so fucking jealous. I'm guessing the baldness is for Lonely Hearts (he was executed by the chair, right?)
Damn, I can't wait to get the new album. And even more to see them live, I'll bet Attack was kickass live. |

Yes, Jared is really bald. More reviews of this show will start pouring in from Inconnu & VirgoAnima once they get home and settled down. I literally walked in the door, got something to drink, sat down, wrote the review, and just got out of the shower like 5 minutes ago.

Yeah well they didn't search us at all, I wish I had known they weren't going to or I would've brought my camera. Some pictures might surface online somewhere, though I'm not 100% sure who all took some.

That's awesome. I can't wait until my show! And BALD, wow that is crazy?! The music is what matters, but how does Jared head bang without a full head of hair to swing around? LOL!
